Suzanne Smith is a designer/maker of contemporary jewellery and decorative objects. Working mainly in precious metals, she combines these with semi-precious stones, found objects and mixed materials, to create contemporary, stylish and collectable ranges. Inspiration comes from many sources including nature, fashion and nostalgia

Fowlers Yard

Fowlers Yard Creative workshops are open to the public, providing visitors with the opportunity to meet artists and craftspeople and observe different creative processes, such as, goldsmithing, painting, textile arts, embroidery, tapestry, photography, micro brewing and hat making. There is also a Coffee Shop in which to relax and take in the atmosphere.

Situated on the banks of the River Wear the workspaces are moments away from the historic and retail heart of Durham City centre.

Lifespan

 

Lifespan is a small local charity which brings ease and support to people with serious and life-threatening illness, and to family members and friends who care for them.

The bangle pictured above was made by Andrew Ashcroft to be sold at the 2011 Lifespan Art Auction.
